Caroline Wozniack, a former Liverpool international winner, won her first grand slam title in Melbourne on Saturday. Wozniacki who competed in Liverpool three times and became a massive Liverpool FC supporter won an epic finale against Simone Halep winning 64 in the finale set on Saturday becoming the first Dane to win a Grand Slam.
Tournament Director Anders Borg says “We are so pleased for Caroline, not only did she win her first slam after having lost 2 previous finals, she is also today ranked No1 in the world. She came to Liverpool first time as a 16 year old and we are so proud of her incredible achievements over the weekend.”
