Leading private healthcare providers Spire Hospital Liverpool have signed up as a sponsor for The Liverpool International Tennis Tournament 2012, which will be held at Calderstones Park between 19 – 24 June.
Originally formed in 2007 from the sale of BUPA Hospitals, with the addition of 10 former-Classic hospitals in 2008, Spire’s network of hospitals now numbers 37 and covers the entire country – including one in Liverpool.
This year, the tournament will be spread over six days, comprising two days for youngsters on June 19-20, followed by the four day main tournament event, which organisers hope will generate 25,000 spectators.
Janine Melia, at Spire Hospital Liverpool said, “We’re delighted to be supporting the Liverpool International Tennis Tournament this summer. Spire Hospital’s business is all about looking after people, and we are committed to demonstrating corporate social responsibility across every area of our business – including by contributing to the local communities where we operate.
“Having worked with more than 60,000 youngsters in schools and youth clubs across the region since it began, it’s an event which is also helping to engage young people in sports and healthy living, and we are very proud to be sponsoring such an exceptional event.”
Tournament Director, Anders Borg says: “I’m absolutely delighted that Spire Hospital will be joining us as a sponsor for the first time this year. As one of the region’s premiere healthcare providers, there are naturally synergies between our brands so it’s a great fit for us.
An inevitable consequence of the recent cuts imposed on local authorities means that Liverpool City Council’s financial input to this year’s event will be less, so the involvement of our key corporate sponsors is absolutely vital in terms of bridging the gap and enabling the event to happen this summer.”
