The Liverpool Hope International Tennis Tournament 2017 kicked-off on Wednesday afternoon with our annual kid’s day and qualifiaction finals. The kids day introduced 750 school children from all over the Liverpool area to a number of sports including squash, cricket and rugby with the main emphasis on Tennis.
Tournament Director Anders Borg commented
“We firmly believe multi-sport activity is extremely important for children as they grow and develop. Our unique programme activates not only their body but inspires their mind whilst having plenty of fun. This region has historically been dominated by football – but there’s no reason why tennis cannot strive too. We encourage everyone who plays football to have tennis as their second sport – it’s a sport for life.”
Following their Tennis lessons the children were thoroughly entertained by our qualification finals which took place on centre court.
Congratulations to Adam Jones and Ellie Aldrich who have qualified for the main draw of Liverpool Hope International 2017.
