Players

We have a great lineup of players this year who are all preparing for Wimbledon, including Alexandro Giannessi (ITA), Dimitar Kuzmanov (BUL) and Alexandra Cadantu (ROM). In addition, British Wimbledon hero Marcus Willis (GBR), who took on Roger Federer on centre court, returns to delight the Liverpool crowd, having played his way through the qualifying tournament.

Men

Marcus Willis

Marcus Willis joins the Liverpool lineup Liverpool International Tennis Tournament 2021. Marcus went through 6 qualifying matches in Wimbledon won first round main draw before playing Roger Federer in front of a packed center court. Marcus put on a great performance but lost in the end to one of the most famous tennis players of all times.

 

Patrick Brady

Patrick Brady The 16-year-old was one of only two British boys to make it through Wimbledon qualifying and put in two strong performances in the main draw.

Patrick has a strong affinity with the area as his father and coach has been a Liverpool season ticket holder for over 25 years and they have many friends in the area. Patrick is being mentored by Ken Skupski and his coach Anthony Hardman.

Dimitar Kuzmanov

Women

Amelia Fortescue

Amelia studied at the University of Bath including a placement year at Boston University in the states. During her time at Bath, she captained the first team and they won the BUCS championships title.

Alexandra Cadantu-Ignatik

Alexandra is no stranger to Liverpool as she played in the International in 2013 and has had several wins on the ITF circuit . Alexandra will use the The Liverpool International for a push into Wimbledon through the qualifications which starts on the 19th of June.

Nadia Podoroska

Nadia Podoroska is an Argentine professional tennis player. She was a singles semi-finalist at Roland Garros 2020 and competed in the 2020 Summer Olympic Games. Podoroska has won one doubles title on the WTA Tour, along with 14 singles titles and seven doubles titles on the ITF Circuit. On 12 July 2021, she reached her best singles ranking of world No. 36.

Ulrikke Eikeri

Ulrikke just finished an amazing week in Paris making it all the way to the final of mix doubles whilst Wang is coming back from injuries but current coach and earlier Liverpool participant Pat Cash is confident she can reach earlier heights in the next year.

Qiang Wang

Qiang Wang of China to compete in the 20th Liverpool International tennis Tournament starting on Thursday at The Liverpool Cricket Club.

Yue Yuan

Yue Yuan has started 2022 in blistering form with a 7-match winning streak where she narrowly missed out on a spot at the Australian Open Main Draw. She has had some incredible win’s already this year including the World No. 28 in Miami. She is certainly one to watch!
