The Liverpool Hope University International tennis Tournament ended up in spectacular style with a wide range of tennis being played under challenging wind conditions in Calderstones. The crowd saw Anders Jarryd take on Younes Alanoui in singles in addition to very entertaining legends doubles between Jarryd / Cowan and Perfors/ McNamara and local up and coming lads Neil and Ken Skupski beating Santoro / Alanoui in super tie break.
The day was finished up with our visitor from Ghana, Albert Arthur losing in a tight match against Mikeal Pernfors of Sweden.
Anders Borg said ” We try to feature everything that tennis has on offer and today we have seen a local paring ( Skupksi brothers ) that we believe can go far on the ATP doubles ranking in addition to some of the finest doubles players ever from the past. We also show cased the best of what African tennis can offer and wish Albert all the best in his future career and hope that his experience from this weekend will help him to develop his tennis.
